Have questions about your order, or a general enquiry?
Some of our most commonly-asked questions are answered below. If you have further questions, please get in touch with us via email or call (833) 244-3473. Real folks are here to make sure you are taken care of.
Questions about your order, shipping timeframes, cancellations, and more.
We try to ship between 8-10 days from the receipt of an order.
When your order comes in, the folks at our warehouse pull all of the pieces included in your order, box them for shipping, and then our shipping broker builds a route to your address and selects the best carrier for the delivery. When your order leaves our warehouse, you will receive an email from us, which will include, among other things, a tracking number.
Once we process your order, you will receive a telephone call from the carrier, which will be contacting you directly to set up a convenient date and time for the actual delivery. The DUDE ships directly to your door via FedEx, all other Cauldrons ship on a pallet, and are delivered via a freight service. This means that a full-sized truck (typically a semi) will need to be able to get to your driveway. The truck will have a lift gate if necessary, and so once they arrive, they will simply lower the pallet down, and anywhere you might reasonably ask the driver to roll a pallet jack will be just fine.
If you know that a semi can’t get to your address, the phone call will allow you to make arrangements directly with the driver or the dispatcher to meet the truck at a convenient location (e.g. at the end of the paved road) and they will lower the unit with the lift gate directly into your pickup truck, trailer, or any other mode of convenience that may be necessary to get the Cauldron to it’s new home.
The legs are not on the pallet, but come in a separate carton. (For The DUDE: ALL items are in the same box -- segmented legs as well.) Please be sure you get both pieces before the driver leaves.
We generally stay on this delivery schedule. However, sometimes demand outstrips our ability to keep up. If it’s been more that a week since your order was placed and you still haven’t received an email confirmation from us, please contact our customer service.A real person will either answer the phone or call you back within 24 hours.
Please get in touch with us through our Contact page if you have further questions.
As you already know, Cauldrons are big. Even the Urban Cowboy. They don’t fit into a mailbox, and they don’t meet the limits of the UPS truck, either. So they ship via something called “LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) Scheduled Freight Delivery.” This is just a fancy term that means we will have our shipping broker find the best service from our warehouse to your delivery address, and will book a truck with the right equipment to get it to you. Freight trucks are big - typically a semi, and not a box truck, so we ship via scheduled service whereby the carrier calls you to confirm a delivery date and time, and also to allow you to discuss with them if there are any issues getting you your address. As you might guess, Cauldrons get delivered to lots of out-of-the-way places, and in some instances you may need to make special arrangements to meet the delivery truck, etc. We do everything we can to make the delivery as easy as possible.
Currently, we do not ship internationally. If you have specific questions, please give us a call.

General questions product specifics, dimensions, applications, etc.
You can see a chart comparing the height of each Cauldron unit on each product page. This is to give you a sense of scale. Know that your height may vary slightly if you place the tripod legs on a firm foundation compared to a softer foundation -- such a grass, sand, or gravel.
The Ranch Boss has solid 1/4” plate steel.
The Wrangler is 7/32”,
The Urban Cowboy and The Dude have 3/16” steel basins.
Great question! Every Cowboy Cauldron comes standard with a rain cover (vinyl cover for The Dude and Urban Cowboy, hard cover for The Wrangler and Ranch Boss).
Your best option is to place the grill atop the basin and then place the rain cover atop the grill. Clip in both sides of the rain cover and the tilt the basin on the hook and handle about 3-4". This will let the basin rest at a slight angle for rain to run off in a easy manner.

Every Cowboy Cauldron is shipped with a rain cover. The Ranch Boss and The Wrangler have a hard composite cover that secures to the basin with two stainless steel spring slips. The Urban Cowboy and The Dude include a coated canvas soft cover that secures to the basin with plastic buckles. The Rain covers are not heat resistant. Do not cover the Cauldron until the metal is cool to the touch (usually the following day after a fire). Store the cover away from the Cauldron while it is burning.
Our largest models, The Wrangler and The Ranch Boss, are made in Salt Lake City, Utah. The smaller models, The Dude and The Urban Cowboy, are made by our production partner in China. The materials, construction, and finish are the same on all domestic and imported Cowboy Cauldrons.
We have a comparison of all sizes and graphic elements that illustrate the footprint of each Cauldron. No two Cauldrons are made to accomplish the same tasks, but rather fit different applications and lifestyles.

We do! There are 4 options for each Cauldron that you can select from on each Cauldron page.
It is recommended that you buy the S-Hooks and Chain with the Chuckwagon Pot. You can either hang the pot from the bail of the Cauldron with the hooks or, using an additional chain, hang it high, medium, or lower over your coals from the hook under the cap of your Cauldron.
Taking care of your Cauldron and general use questions.
Yes. Cowboy Cauldrons are designed to burn wood perfectly, just the way they are. The reasons get very technical, and we’ll skip the physics lesson. Just know that the fire goes right in the bottom of the basin, and heat is concentrated in such a way that combustion is very complete. We provide a charcoal grate for times when you might want to use it charcoal cooking, but for fires or cooking with fire, just load, light, and laugh.

No. If rain makes its way into the basin (which will happen from time to time) we recommend you tilt the basin to clean out any water. We find that tilting the Cauldron along the bail with the hook is the best method to remove any liquid from the basin.
Cleaning a Cauldron is very similar to cleaning a grill. You'll want to tilt the Cauldron basin on the hook along the bail and, using a wire brush, brush out ash and smaller coals.
To keep your Cauldron in its best shape, we recommend treating with Bear Fat.
Note: We'd recommend only cleaning out your Cauldron once all embers have been completely extinguished. Handling hot embers rarely ends well.
The soft cover for The Urban Cowboy and The Dude is designed to be used with the cooking grill. Put the grill on first, then snap the cover over it. If you use the cover without the cooking grill, water will pool in the cover and drain into the basin. The hard cover on The Wrangler and The Ranch Boss blocks water from above, but can take on water from sprinklers spraying sideways. On all Cauldron models, the cover works best if the basin is at a slight angle. Slide the handle over on the hook a little so water runs off the side.

If, within 60 days, you decide you want to return it, simply ship it back to us and we will refund your money. No questions asked.
A Cowboy Cauldron is meant to last. They are also meant to be loved. If you order a Cauldron from us and don’t like it, you can return it to us within 60 days for a full refund, no questions asked. Yes, it is a gamble that you might have to bear return shipping charges, but so far we have sold thousands of Cauldrons, and only had one come back. It’s a pretty safe bet .
All Cauldrons are unconditionally warranted for one year from the date of purchase.
Replacement parts are seldom requested, but are of course available. Most replacements come from parts being lost or destroyed (e.g running over a grill). If you are using a Cauldron so much that you actually wear something out (and it won’t be the basin, we can assure you) know that we are here to take care of you.
