We try to ship between 8-10 days from the receipt of an order. However, we have been overwhelmed with orders this spring and summer, and are also experiencing some delays in fabrication and raw material shipments due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Know that we are doing all we can to get your order filled while keeping our staff and supply chain safe.

When your order comes in, the folks at our warehouse pull all of the pieces included in your order, box them for shipping, and then our shipping broker builds a route to your address and selects the best carrier for the delivery.

When your order leaves our warehouse, you will receive an email from us, which will include, among other things, a tracking number.

Once we process your order, you will receive a telephone call from the carrier, which will be contacting you directly to set up a convenient date and time for the actual delivery.

Cauldrons ship on a pallet, and are delivered via a freight service. This means that a full-sized truck (typically a semi) will need to be able to get to your driveway. The truck will have a lift gate if necessary, and so once they arrive, they will simply lower the pallet down, and anywhere you might reasonably ask the driver to roll a pallet jack will be just fine.

If you know that a semi can’t get to your address, the phone call will allow you to make arrangements directly with the driver or the dispatcher to meet the truck at a convenient location (e.g. at the end of the paved road) and they will lower the unit with the lift gate directly into your pickup truck, trailer, or any other mode of convenience that may be necessary to get the Cauldron to it’s new home.

The legs are not on the pallet, but come in a separate carton.

Please be sure you get both pieces before the driver leaves.
We generally stay on this delivery schedule. However, sometimes demand outstrips our ability to keep up. If it’s been more that a week since your order was placed and you still haven’t received an email confirmation from us, please contact our customer service.

A real person will either answer the phone or call you back within 24 hours.

As you already know, Cauldrons are big. Even the Urban Cowboy. They don’t fit into a mailbox, and they don’t meet the limits of the UPS truck, either. So they ship via something called “LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) Scheduled Freight Delivery.” This is just a fancy term that means we will have our shipping broker find the best service from our warehouse to your delivery address, and will book a truck with the right equipment to get it to you. Freight trucks are big - typically a semi, and not a box truck, so we ship via scheduled service whereby the carrier calls you to confirm a delivery date and time, and also to allow you to discuss with them if there are any issues getting you your address. As you might guess, Cauldrons get delivered to lots of out-of-the-way places, and in some instances you may need to make special arrangements to meet the delivery truck, etc. We do everything we can to make the delivery as easy as possible.

The first time you put a Cauldron together it may take you a while because you have to get it out of the box, and we package our stuff really well. It takes no tools to put one together or take one apart, and with two people involved, once you have it all unwrapped you should have it ready to go in a couple of minutes, tops.  Seriously, they are so easy to assemble that if you and a friend can’t put one together the third time in under 90 seconds or so, you probably shouldn’t own one. It would be an indication of much larger problems.

If, within 60 days, you decide you want to return it, simply ship it back to us and we will refund your money. No questions asked.

Yes. All Canadian orders are shipped DDP (deliveries and duties paid).

Our standard, Domestic parcel and freight/LTL shipping prices in included in the product price for The DUDE. There is a $59 Flat Shipping Fee for The Urban Cowboy, The Wrangler, and The Ranch Boss. These prices are NOT reflective of special requests, remote destinations, private communities, special regulations, or special instructions. These variables will likely result in additional shipping costs due to the nature of large shipments — specifically The Urban Cowboy, The Wrangler, and The Ranch Boss.

If specialty shipping is requested or required for delivery, our customer service team will contact the recipient with reformulated shipping prices.

Every Cowboy Cauldron is shipped with a rain cover. The Ranch Boss and The Wrangler have a hard composite cover that secures to the basin with two stainless steel spring slips. The Urban Cowboy and The Dude include a coated canvas soft cover that secures to the basin with plastic buckles. The Rain covers are not heat resistant. Do not cover the Cauldron until the metal is cool to the touch (usually the following day after a fire). Store the cover away from the Cauldron while it is burning.

Our largest models, The Wrangler and The Ranch Boss, are made in Salt Lake City, Utah. The smaller models, The Dude and The Urban Cowboy are made by our production partner in China. The materials, construction, and finish are of equal quality on the domestic and imported Cowboy Cauldrons.

We aren’t sure why this question gets asked so frequently. The good news is that you don’t need to clean a Cauldron very often, because they like a layer of ash in the bottom. The better news is that it couldn’t be easier to do. Just step on one edge of the basin and sweep out the ash — Presto! Another task completed. Get yourself a beer – you deserve it.

None. No holes. No holes at all. And for very good reasons, too. Believe us, we’ve thought this through. First, you don’t want sparks falling out the bottom. This would be NFG. Second, you also don’t want ash water dripping out on your patio. Most importantly, when you want to put the fire underneath the basin and break the state crawdad boil record, the basin must hold water. We include a rain cover to keep rain and snow out. Use it between fires to avoid soggy ashes.

Cowboy Cauldrons are designed to burn wood perfectly, just the way they are. The reasons get very technical, and we’ll skip the physics lesson. Just know that the fire goes right in the bottom of the basin, and heat is concentrated in such a way that combustion is very complete. We provide a charcoal grate for times when you might want to use it charcoal cooking, but for fires or cooking with fire, just load, light, and laugh.

Note: The tripod of each cauldron makes an equilateral triangle. The measurement from the base of one leg of the tripod to the adjacent leg is the measurement below: "tripod leg base to tripod leg base."

The height or how "tall" each cauldron tripod is refers to the vertical distance from the top of the cap to the floor or ground.

-The Dude:  69” tripod leg base to tripod leg base / 60" Tall
-The Urban Cowboy:  72” tripod leg base to tripod leg base  / 72" Tall
-The Wrangler and Ranch Boss:  84” tripod leg base to tripod leg base  / 79" Tall

The Ranch Boss has solid 1/4” plate steel.
    The Wrangler is 7/32”,
The Urban Cowboy and The Dude have 3/16” steel basins.

We strive to make our products the finest that money can buy. However, once a Cauldron leaves our warehouse and is in transit to you, it is simply out of our control.

We have recently been experiencing a sharp increase in loss, damage, and transit delays in our shipments to customers. Consequently, we are now offering shipping insurance through a company called ROUTE. We highly recommend that you utilize this resource. If your shipment is lost or damaged, we can ship a replacement part to you right away, without having to wait for the carrier to investigate, search for lost packages, etc. You will see the cost of Route in the cart page for your order. It is a small (2.5%) percentage of your entire order and can be removed at any time, if you wish.

With the holiday season approaching, and both transit and supply chains already strained, we urge you to take advantage of the insurance offer. After all, Cauldrons are already hard to get down the chimney!

The soft cover for The Urban Cowboy and The Dude is designed to be used with the cooking grill. Put the grill on first, then snap the cover over it. If you use the cover without the cooking grill, water will pool in the cover and drain into the basin. The hard cover on The Wrangler and The Ranch Boss blocks water from above, but can take on water from sprinklers spraying sideways. On all Cauldron models, the cover works best if the basin is at a slight angle. Slide the handle over on the hook a little so water runs off the side.
